FENCING QUESTIONS

Board-on-board wood fences and horizontal slat fences offer excellent privacy. We also offer mixed material fences (wood + metal) for a modern, private solution that lasts.

Most fencing projects take 2–4 days, depending on length, terrain, materials, and weather. We’ll give you a clear timeline during your quote.

Most townships in Bucks and Montgomery Counties do require a permit for new fencing. We’ll guide you through the process and provide drawings/specs if needed. You can also view permit info by township here.

Yes — if your current fence is in good condition, we can match materials and style to maintain consistency. We’ll evaluate on-site and make sure it blends properly.

Pressure-treated lumber, when properly sealed and maintained, lasts 15+ years. Mixed material fences (timber + steel or aluminum) offer additional strength and low maintenance.

DECK QUESTIONS

Deck projects typically start around $8,000 and can go up to $25,000+ depending on size, layout, material, and features like pergolas or lighting. We’ll break it all down in your quote — no guesswork.

For a natural look and feel, timber (pressure-treated or cedar) is ideal. If low maintenance is your priority, we can discuss composite alternatives, though our specialty is premium woodwork.

Yes — we offer deck resurfacing, board and railing replacement, refinishing, and structural repairs. We’ll inspect your current deck and let you know what’s salvageable.

In most cases, yes — especially for elevated decks, larger builds, or anything that attaches to your home. We assist with permit drawings, zoning requirements, and township paperwork.

Most decks take 1–2 weeks depending on size, design, and weather. We’ll give you an exact timeline before we begin — and stick to it.

PROJECT & PROCESS QUESTIONS

We typically book 3–6 weeks out, depending on the season. Once you approve your quote, we lock in your start date and reserve your materials.

Only one. Yours.
Black Iron Timber Co. believes in quality over quantity — we focus on one job at a time to ensure every client gets our full attention.

We leave the job site clean every day, not just at the end. That means materials organized, walkways clear, and tools stored safely — because we respect your property.

Yes. We provide specs, renderings, and can help you navigate your HOA’s requirements so you get approval with minimal hassle.

We monitor the weather daily and plan accordingly. If there’s a delay, we’ll communicate clearly and adjust your schedule — without compromising quality or rushing the job.

DESIGN & PLANNING QUESTIONS

Absolutely. During our consultation, we’ll talk through your style preferences, functional needs, and how you use the space — then suggest designs, layouts, and materials that fit.

Yes — for complex builds or HOA/township requirements, we’ll provide sketches or visual mockups as needed.

You can — and we can even plan for future upgrades in our initial design so your deck or fence is ready when you are.

CONTRACT, WARRANTY & FOLLOW-UP

Your quote includes materials, labor, cleanup, and all known project costs. If something changes (like site conditions or materials), we’ll discuss it with you before any work begins.

Yes. Most of our projects include a limited workmanship warranty, plus any manufacturer warranties on materials. We’ll review all terms with you before starting.

Reach out — we stand by our work. If it’s covered under warranty, we’ll fix it. If it’s something else, we’ll give you an honest assessment and fair repair quote.
